Locating Local Fish Stores

Hi, do you guys know if theres like a search engine or anything that look up all the local fish stores in one area?

I live in Sacramento, CA and the only places i know beside chain stores that sell fishes are Capitol aquarium(expensive) and O Street Aquarium (small)

anyone know any good LFS in my area or how to look for it?

I live up north of you and I do the 3.5 hour drive to go to Capitol Aquarium! They may be high but they are worth it for the amount of fish they have. Also the info they give is great for a lfs. I saw the manager tell a person that was buying a GF bowl and 3 huge GF that she would have to do water changes twice a day to keep them heathy or they would die. That you do not hear every day from a fish store. They also have some great display tanks if a bit over stocked. You do not know how lucky you are to be near 2 good fish stores. Up here all they carry is Salt water fish and the only place to get FW is PetCo and Wallmart!

Hehe, yea

Capitol Aquarium does have a lot of fish selections and they are pretty much all healthy fishes, unlike most chain stores in like petco and petsmart..lol

Hi itszztom

Have you thought about joining your local aquarium society? That's the best way to get all kinds of information that pertains to your area. Also, members will bring fish they have raised themselves to sell. Often it's the only way to get certain types of fish locally.

It's a lot of fun to make friends with people who enjoy keeping fish too.
