if i had female and male livebearers in the same tank but seperated using a tank divider, is there any chance that a female may still become pregnant?

Not if she doesn't have anything "stored" form previous encounters. A female can become pregnant 2-4 times after one time with a male becuase she can store his sperm for later use. After those pregnancies have run their course, she can't become pregnant without contact with a male.

A female swordtail can have 5 batches of fry from 1 spawning......no, they don't need males always!! :)

It depends what type of divider...does it have like small holes in it or is it solid?

If there are holes they might be able to mate that way if they were both near the hole at the same time.
the male would have to be very clever, to pull that one off, my male molly can never manage it once he always has to chace her fist.
