help. i have a female black molly, a male golden sailfin, and very recently had a male black molly. i was wonderin if the female was impregnated by black molly and then impregnated by the golden one what would happen. i dont want to lose anu fish.

i was also wondering what would happen if i left the fish in my 15 gallon tank and wondering how would they get the food on the serface. i have a spare tank but have no extra heater. what should i do?

i also have 3 female guppies, 1 male. i was wondering if anyone has any tips at all. they are greatly appriciated. thank you.

Im new at this and ANY info is so helpful

Are you asking what would happen if both males were to try to mate with her or if they both succeeded? If they both go after her, it would probably stress her out. You should keep more males than females so the amle hopefully goes after more than one female. If they both pass their gametes to her, the female chooses (not really her) which packets of sperm to use. it won't really affect the fry (other than determining what they look like, of course :p).

Umm... which fish do you want to put in the 15? All of the fish should be able to get food from the surface.

Forgot about the heater thing. I have the heater turned off on my tanks since the temperature doesn't vary more than 5 degrees through out the day. Just so long as the temperature remains constant (your tank isn't near a window, vent, or doors) and the temp is 74-80, it should be ok.

Mollies will outgrow a 15 pretty quickly, so you might want to look into getting a new tank. Also, what conditions are you keeping them in? They prefer slightly brackish water, or hard, alkaline freshwater.

The fry should be able to get some food from the surface in the 15. Add in some floating plants. They'll hide in there and can usually dart out and get some food before the parents see them. What size spare tank do you have? Is it cycled? And for the heater...what kind of climate do you live in, and how wamr is your house usually? Here, if my tanks don't have a heater, they swing down about 10F at night, and major temperature changes are not good for the fish, especially fry.

Take a look through the pinned topics and FAQs. I think you'll find a lot of good information there. Good luck! :)

dont worry about the fry getting the food...i have about 30 guppy/mollie fry in a 15 and they get food really easily
