I have a five gallon tank with some mollies in it. The two females have ich.
Will treating the tank with the ich medici
ne cause them to abort their pregnancies?

Introducing any medications during a pregnancy can cause loss. The Ich, however, runs a greater risk, ecspecially if it is not taken care of before the fry come.

As you probably know, Ich is a parasite that will rapidly reproduce if not treated. One single spot of Ich will more than likely kill a fry.....and, If two of your fish have Ich, it's just a matter of days, if not hours before the rest get it.

Instead of giving you a lengthy reply, a few of the pinned topics at the top of the forum will give you remedy and treatment options. I always just print them out. The only advice I could give you would to shy away from Malachite Green and Copper-based treatments as they are generally the most invasive. A salt treatment may be your best bet but I can't really give advice on this procedure as I have never used it.

Hope this helps. Read the pinned articles at the top of the forum.

First of all, can you please share your test results for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and pH? Exactly what fish are in your 5 gal? How long has the tank been running?

The basics of treating ich involve adding meds, slowly turning the tank up to 84*, and adding aquarium salt if your fish can tollerate it. Your mollies can, but i don't know about the rest of your fish. Also you need to make sure your water quality is excelent, as it gives the fish a better chance.
