I have dexcided against getting a pair of Lamprologus or Neolamprologus for ym new 20 gallon tank. But I want ot keep some live bearers. What types of live bearers can I have without interbreeding being an issue. I know I want some Sword tails, and maybe some platties, if they won't interbreed. Please give your suggestions for a 20 gallon live bearer tank. It will more than likely house some cherry shrimp also. Thank you for you suggestions in advance. :good:

Sowrdtails and platies will cross breed
Mollies and guppies will also cross breed but one species of each together will not cross breed ie plaites and guppies will not cross

Thank you for the information. I guess I can't have a plain livebearer tank. I think I will have a harem of sword tails, some cherry shrimp, some type of tetra, and might move my ram over If I think he is compatible with the cherry shrimp, I read where the ram would view them as a snack. I might drop the shrimp for an apisto or two. Then maybe some type of pleco, maybe bristlenose.
