Livebearer Feeders

I had a 10 gallon tank ready to go and waiting for fish. My lfs sells livebearer feeders for 20/$1.00. So I went ahead and asked for 10 for 50 cents. I took them home and put them in the tank. I ended up with 2 male neon swords, 4 female marigold swords, and 4 mickey mouse platies. They were just babies, tiny, maybe 1/2". I fed them ground up flakes. They are doing just fine. Has anyone heard of this before?

sounds like a nice tank setup ground up flakes would be perfect for them as they grow. there is a large live bearer fan base on here during the most of the uk day time and by tomorow you should have allot of replys. i work the night shift and there is not much work on atm so am busy typing the night away. try doing a search of the forum for each of the different breeds and you should find lots of posts on the forum. will and big fish are some of the biggest fans i have seen of thease types of fish so keep an eye out for there posts. apart from that i hope you have fun with your fish and good luck.

Sounds good..... I have several platties and mollies and they get babies at regular intervals I have always fed them on flakes and they do just fine. They also like a little veggy diet so I provide blanched zucchini, peas and cucumber. You will find that even the younger ones will eat this.
