I have a 55 gallon, planted tank, sand substrate and my plants keep dieing, especially the larger ones. My light source, which came with the tank, is two single bar lights at 15 watts each. could this be the problem. if this is the problem what does anyone recommend. any help would be much appreciated. The tank has been going for 7 months now, water stats are perfect, and the tank is only stocked about 3/4 of the way. I want to keep large swords as my plants that my catfish can hide in.

Thanks

youo have very low light, only plant that you might be able to keep is anubias, java fern, java moss & moss balls.

you can keep them in what you have now, but you could get another tube.

Are you existing tubes T8? if so, then you could get some T6's which output 40% more light, available from aqua essentials.
