Live Plant Lighting

Hi All

i'm new to all this and am cycling at the minute, after picking bits up from this great site
i when out at the weekend and got some live plants for my Juwel 60, will the light for this be OK?

i think it 15w any ideas what is best if anything ?

should be? you can get bulbs for plants that encourage growth but a normal bulb should do fine

Depends upon the plants realy. Woud be fine for most, but some require stronger lighting. Have you got any pics of the plants? If so, could you please post pics in the plant section and someone will be able to advise you from there.

you will have about 1WPG (watt per gallon) watts divided by gallons

you can grow low light plants in this, but no red or the lighter coloured leaves species, what plants have you got

dont know what the platns are,need to find out, most are dark green but two look like a spider plant type off one central stalk
i guess this won't survive then

The darker one should be ok, but the spider types are probibly non-aquatic, and thus won't do so well. They need to be partly out of the water to survive for any length of time.
