Fish Crazy
EDIT: Please ignore this - I just noticed the pinned topic. I'm an idiot. Sorry.
Hi all,
I've always fed my fish with frozen bloodworm, daphnia, etc, but have recently moved into a flat only to find (to my horror) that there was no freezer - not even a freezer compartment in the fridge! I've been feeding them dried bloodworms, which they eat, but they don't get nearly so excited about them.
Does anyone have any experience/advice about keeping some live bloodworms (for example) to feed to my fish? I've read about having brine shrimp (?) in a margarine tub and feeding the eggs to the fish - any experience in doing this would also be good.
Finally - has anyone ever tried keeping a colony of bloodworms (again, for example) in the tank with the fish, it must be possible to find a balance where the bloodworms breed quickly enough for the colony to survive while still feeding the fish - perhaps with some kind of hiding/breeding place for the bloodworms that the fish can't get to.
It's just occurred to me that bloodworms are probably some kind of larva, so probably don't breed... the previous question was probably stupid then. Hmm. Sorry for rambling...!
EDIT (continued): So you read it anyway? You must have too much time on your hands!
