Hi,

I am thinking about buying my first batch of live food for my tank and I was wondering what the risks of disease and contamination were?

Is it no more of a risk than adding a live plant or fish?

Do i need to worry about the water the food is supplied in changing my water chemistry (like the reverse of acclimatizing new fish to the tanks water parameters)?

Thanks for reading my post,

Andy

Most live is safe, I'd avoid tubifex worms however as they have been found to be full of diseases (collected from sewage if I remember rightly).
