Ok when conditioning a betta for breeding does the food have to be living food or can it be like in those freeze dried stuff?

live food is high preferred(live bloodworms), its a REAL treat for the bettas and it will make them really happy! =D

Well I have freeze dried bloodworms for my bettas conditioning but they should be living uh. Ok In a few days I will go down to the petstore and see if they have living ones:)

If you can't get your hands on live foods then frozen ones are just as good, I condition my breeders on frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp. Freeze dried foods aren't really all that good, during the freeze drying process most of the needed nutrients are sucked out of the food, freeze dried foods provide pretty much no nutritional value what-so-ever.

Baby brine shrimp is really too small for the adults. I would suggest frozen blood worms, its like $5 for like 24 blocks and they last quite awhile.

Ok. Well I have a very small female and I think that the baby brine shrimp might be good for her?

I am sure Carmel will eat anything I put in there! He is a little monster lol
