i know this has been posted about in the past, but for the life of me i can't find those threads.

i have fallen in love with a tough to find variety of rainbow fish. I've seen a few of them available via aquabid but not quite what i'm looking for. I know about aquariumfish.net and liveaquaria.com. But are there any other live fish companies that sell via the internet in the US? What about other auction sites? too bad trimar doesn't ship overseas, i'll bet they carry what i'm looking for :p

thanks guys!!!

Hi MAM :)

Most of the links I have are for corys, but here's one that has rainbow fish too:

You might also try contacting sellers on AquaBid who have similar fish to the ones you are looking for. Since they have contacts to buy their stock from, perhaps one will keep you in mind when he places an order.

Good luck. :D

Have you tried liveaquaria? www.liveaquaria.com - I've ordered fish from them before and they're great

Duh, nevermind. I just re-read your post and you specifically mentioned liveaquaria

Hi MAM - try fish2u.com - they have rainbow fish. If you find a place to order them from and they happen to sell swordtails as well let me know. We might be able to place an order together and split the shipping charges.

Definitely liveaquaria.com. Excellent service.14 day guarantee. Fish arrived toasty and in treated water. All still alive. Have fun. SH

aquariums stuffers  Chances are 90% of the fish you get will be dead when they arrive :grr:

Live aquaria is awesome though

thanks for the new sites guys, i'll check them out.
liveaquaria unfornately only sells "assorted psuedomugil", i won't buy fish that way. i've been watching aquabid, but i haven't seen the few varieties yet that i want. i did contact one guy who has sold other pseudomugil (that's blue-eye varieties) species, but he was actually a bit rude about it when i asked if he had others or knew or somewhere i might be able to get some. shame really, i could have been a good customer of his. but anywho. suppose it would ahve helped in my original post if i'd specified that i'm looking for pseudomugil species of rainbow fish, silly me.

polardbear, i'll check it out. and if i do order from somewhere that has swords too, i'll let you know, you can get more swordies (still searching for a particular type?)!!!

i may just have to contact a couple of local shops and see if they might be able to get them in for me without charging me too much.

but thanks all!

Hi MAM :)

If you are looking for fish that are unusual, as these seem to be, you might want to contact aquarium societies that specialize in them. Perhaps a home breeder might be able to help you, and be happy to know that his carefully raised fish will find a good home. :D

Good luck.
