done, im thinking now it may be something to do with my software firewall or router firewall

Turn ur firewall of in ur control panel and see if it works and you will find out if that's your problem...

well its not my software firewall, the router one is a bit harder to test

lol, your router firewall will be in your router settings.. something liek http/192.168.2.1 or http/192.168.1.1 depending on the router you have..
