My LFS sells little bags of live bloodworms and brine shrimp also daphnia for like 40p and I was wondering how you would distribute this into your tank, talking about the bloodworms, they swim in a reddish liquid and I'm not sure i want this in my tank if I buy some, would I have to empty it into a drainer or could I just tip it into the tank?

I used to tip it into the tank, but I have taken to using a BBS strainer to drain them before giving them to the fish.

with the live food you will have the risk of introducing parasites, or so I've heard.

if you do get them, then you can drain some in a flour strainer, then rinse and boom you can add.

Oh okay,it was just a thought :) not worth the hassle then! I'll stick to my frozen :p

ive brought frozen but not yet got any fish etc that eat it. can it be stored do you know for long if frozen.

All fish will eat frozen bloodworms... just be sure to defrost it first (easy way is to drop it into a cup of tank water and wait 15 minutes or so).

no risk of introducing parasites with bloodworms also the risk of introducing parasites with  daphnia is very slim
