I found tons of tiny white worms in my gravel when I did my gravel vac! What do I do? They are right where my corys hang out!
What are they and what will kill them?
I tried to get a pic, but they are too small. They don't show up.
Help!
Please!

I only found them in the gravel on the end of the tank that is planted. In the last 6 inches of the tank on the right hand side where there is more light. I have an extra light there for the plants.

That says I should only have 1/4 inch of gravel in my tank, but I have to have more than that for the plants. I do clean the gravel when I do water changes. That is how I found the #### things! The problem is they are around and under the plants. What should I do? I pulled the plants and did a fairly good vac after I found the first ones. Then I put the plants over a little. Is there anything else I can do?
I was about to fully plant my tank. Now I am afraid to if I am going to get worms from not being able to vac fully during water changes. Is this always a problem with plants?
Thanks Tolak!!

by the way... will my fish eat them and could it hurt them?

2 of my cory have gotten extremely fat in the last week. I thought they were getting ready to lay eggs. Could it be something to do with the worms instead?

I have done several searches now. Everything says to treat with clout. I have that! Problem... I have corys! You can't use clout with scaleless fish. They don't list another solution.
Any one know what I can use to get rid of these worms without hurting my corys? The tank has 6 cory and 12 zebra danio. It is a 29g.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks for any and all help! :good:

Im pretty sure that there not gonna hurt anyone, But maybe you need to either move you cory's into another tank or treat with somethign else

Cories are probably fat from eating the worms
Just cut back on the amount of food you put in your tank and your worms should go away. To be honest i wouldnt bother treating your tank for them, they shouldnt be hurting anyone and once they die they will rot like dead leaves would, polluting your tank.

Ok... so it's kind of like growing my own live food.
I will quit freaking and just cut back on the food and try to vac more till they are gone. May be I can get rid of them fairly fast. I don't want to order my new plants with them in there. I am not putting my hands in that trying to plant them.
If the extra vacs don't work I will pull the gravel on that part of the tank and clean it. It is only on one end of the tank. I will try to be patient though.
Thanks everyone for all the help. ;)
