I've just noticed tiny white organisms bodding about one of my tanks. Could this be something that may lead to a disease? Should I get rid of them straight away, and if so, how, please?

what do they look like? fleas? worms?

there are some organisms you can get i tink they are called pranaria, sometimes come in on plants, they look like tiny whie worms that live usually on plant matter or on the glass.
they come from live plants, and have been known to come from liquidfry baby foods.

I had those once a long time ago and never found out what they were, they all disappeared without trace and nothing was wrong with the fish. did appear after new plants however ?!?!?!

They're more flea-like than worm-like. They're not ich causers, are they?

i wouldn't of thought so, i think ich generally lives and breeds in the substrate or anywhere where decomposition happens, you could try using some aquarium salt in the tank, this may get rid of them, or if you get desperate use a parasite treatment like sterilizin from waterlife. To honest tho, i don't think it will hurt to ride out the little gits, and see if they naturally go.

just make sure that if you do use a treatment, its not too strong for your fish. Theres no point in stressing out your fish if they are graddually dying off. If you use a low concentration of tonic salt it will benfit your fish, and will probably solve the problem.

hope it goes ok, let me know how it goes,
matt
