Fish Crazy
I got such a kick out of kevinator's share about seeing the balloon molly give birth. I just happened upon them swimming around the tank while feeding them. They're so funny--these tiny litttle things with huge eyes!! Put them in a breeding net that was falling apart but left over from earlier fry. Then what I thought were more kept reappearing---It turned out it was the same 2 of the 4 babies who kept slipping out of this net!!
So funny--so I did get a new breeding net and everyone's happy. I just don't know who birthed them--and a few appeared each day about 2 days in a row. I've only had molly mom drop12-30 at a time...Thy're so cute.
This is a nice continuation of the cycle of life--as the last of the dalmation grown fry (with the orange tail) just succumbed to this major popeye he had in one eye. Antibiotics and water changes didn't help--but he kept hanging on (like his sister did) and dragging himself around the tank--sleeping on plants.
I felt that he went in peace--he was laying peacefully on the gravel in the corner of the tank. I miss him--got these 3 new females for him to chase! (Maybe those females were just too much for him!) But I loved and enjoyed him and are happy to welcome the new crop.
Love to all,
Wendy
