I released my sole neon swordy fry in with the adults today. After investigating the tank and checking out the plants (novelty for the little guy) it is now schooling with the rasboras  I figured it would since they are about the same size as it

He is SOOO cute. The other fish aren't even chasing him at all

It leaves the guppy and lyretail swordy fry to grow up in peace

I have the same kinda story however my guppy dropped its fry in the adult tank -_- because I had just bought it and hadn't prepared for it to have babies so soon! Out of the ones that were born I still have a lil guppy swimming round 5 days after being born. I regret to say that the others didnt make it although I obviously have a strong lil guppy on my hands! Soooo small and cute :D

reminds me when i first got my tank, i had a 30 gallon with 1 neon in it

Understocking definitely makes for a better tank, so long as it isn't an understocked schooling fish tank. Cute story!

How big is the little neon swordy now?

He/she is about an inch long. Swordies are such slow growers from fry....I have guppy fry born after the swordy and they are much bigger. Must be their attitudes taking so long to develop I figure

I still can't tell if it is male or female though judging by the attitude I am pretty sure it is female :p

You are probably correct. Female swordies seem to develop attitudes early while the males are sweet and mellow until they suddenly realize they are males. Then the boys make up for lost time if the young ladies haven't completely beat them into submission.
