yesterday i noticed these little whit dots and im talking small and they are crawling and some times hoping on the glass any ideas as to what they are and if they pose a problam,

It was funny to come accross this post cause i was cleaning stuff off the water surface of my tank and i saw these tiny I MEAN TINY white little specks... on the water surface... and they were hoping on top of the water... really didnt think anything of it...

I have something similar but in the water not on top. Crawling on the glass and stuff. Still dont know what they are

Most deffinatly "Cyclops"......................Google it and you will see. Some times they have two tiny sacks attached to thier sides, thes are the egg sacks on a female. The are perfectly fine and illastrate that you have a healthy aquarium. They also provide food for fry or tiny fish. I like to have them in my tanks, creates are more eco/natural enviroment.

Spring tails?

well not sure they do seem to be small white dots with these really fine tails

i think they may be baby triops how likely is it that they could be triops

Ok, to continue on this theme...

I got some moss balls arrive in the post this morning. On inspection of my new balls (been waiting to make that joke :D) I've found theres these little white creatures crawling about!

They are about 1 - 2mm long, and seem to be almost like tiny caterpillars. Any ideas? I've seen 2 or 3 of them crawling about but they seem to hide back inside the algae/moss ball. I don't want to put them in my tank if they're infested with something nasty :|

Edit: I think this is a springtail :) Looking at pictures, and seeing one "spring" off one of the mossballs has sorta confirmed it for me :)
