Guys, I've recently read the 'Back to basics' post in the Resource Center and found it very interesting. In particular it looks like I should stop adding daily doses of Seachem Florish Excel, given that my 5x2 130 USG tank only has two 58w T8 tubes providing the lighting, meaning about 0.9 WPG, which i gather is classed as a low-light setup. Both lights are on from about 4pm to 9pm, after which I tend to switch one of the tubes off, leaving just the one on for a further hour. The substrate is just regular aquarium sand...about 2-3" of it.

Initially I didn't add anything at all to the tank as most of my plants are doing okay, but over the last few weeks my Amazon Swords that I have along the back wall have started to look pretty unhealthy. Some of the leaves are getting very thin and now appear almost transparent, plus each is now perforated with a number of small holes. This is the main reason why I started adding the liquid co2 about a week ago, though to date I can't see that it has made any difference at all. Yesterday I also decided I should try some fertilizer so added a first dose of 'Tropica Plant Nutrition +'.

Would be grateful for any opinions on whether I should stop adding the Seachem and continue with the TPN+, or continue with both or cease both? I'm leaning towards the first option at present.

In my low-light I just dose TPN+. Both wouldn't hurt, if you got rid of the Seachem, depending on how old your tank was, I would possibly say to cut back on your waterchanges. The Seachem might not be cost-effective in the long run.
