Hi, i recently just purchased two of these nice little fellas, was wondering if anyone else here keeps them ?

those are nice fish, what size tank are you keeping them in? Ive always wanted some, but have never been able to find any. Congrats on your purchase.

Theyre in a 3ft tank all alone with some bristlenose catfish..the lionheads i have are only 4-5cm, not big yet haha..

Do you keep them?

i was just concerned you were keeping them with all the other fish you have been asking about recently

nah, not the case haha.

I want to set up a tank with a variety of fish, the only thing that really annoys me is the fact that, Electric Blue females, Lithobates females, sunshine peacock females and steveni peacock females all look the same, and i wont be able to distinguish them from a distance, there not currently together at the moment, but im wanting a tank that i can put a pretty big variety.

I was wondering, 2 males to every 6 females be sufficient for africans? such as e. yellows etc..Also, just a question out of interest, how many fish would be able to be put in a 4ft tank? with the fish all being 8-10cm.

you can't possibly say if two males to six females will work...it will for some. not for others. some species will not tollerate another male of the same species in thier tank. unless its huge. others are fine.

its all too general to say without talking about specific species.

the same applies to how many will fit in a 4 foot tank.. totally depends on the species rather than the size.

for mbuna of medium agression and stocked at the best ratio. i have had 25+ adults in a 4 foot before now.. very good filtration though and a very strict maintanence regime

i have a 6ft x 2ft x 2ft tank in my backyard just sitting there, its been cycling for 2months, a fair bit of fish will be able to live there?

Was thinking of putting mpanga, hongi, maingano and some cobalt blues in there.

Would that be sufficient? Also how many of each would you recommend?
