my puffer, Fat Albert, was a mean little bastard and thought he could match whits with my lionfish, Elenor. You'd figure the long, stinging spines on my lionfish would be a warning to fat albert. Everyone in the tank was gettin along great for a long time but one day Fat Albert tried to bite Elenor, got stung, died, and then my snowflake eel Nessie ate him. Poor puffer, but you gotta admit, you wish you saw the battle!

as for the rest of the tank...... Elenor still wont take anything but live food and loves ghost shrimp (these are good to feed lionfish right?). Nessie now eats shrimp from the grociery store out of my hand, and Bartleby, my koran angel, is eating real well, but he keeps tryin to get Nessie to "clean" him. i guess i need to get a cleaner shrimp in there for him. All my coral is doing great except that my leather coral stays hidden most of the day, and my brain coral is taking a few hits from the angel.

Sounds psycho! :hyper:

I have to comment on your stocking choices, though. Chocolate chip stars are voracious omnivores, and will eat corals like they were gummy bears, as well as any other animal that happens to get ran over by them (my old guy ate a large brittle star). Mushrooms especially are at risk. You may want to remove the choco chip starfish in favour of a Fromia or other herbivorous one.

marine feeder shrimp would be much better for him do to the HUFA's in the marine and not in the fresh water shrimp but you could also gut load them with cyclop-eeze and different marine foods. that's what i do but mine will also take frozen krill scallops and clams.

thanks for the advice. quick question though..... do you mean you feed the ghost shrimp the cyclop-eeze stuff before giving them to the lion? cuz that does sound like a good idea to get the right kind of nutrition to the lion
