About a year and a half ago I posted this thread about my Limias and shortly afterward I put the female in a separate tank and saved some of the males in a different one. Since she has been alone, there have been no more fry.

Today I picked the best male I have and put him in with her. (She's the big female in post #3 of the old thread.) They are both beautiful and healthy fish, but I'm concerned about the length of time that has gone by since she has given me fry, and also wonder if she will just be too old.

Here she is now:

Even though he probably doesn't remember seeing a female before, he seemed happy to see her.

Thanks for posting, helterskelter. I've become quite fond of these fish. I have a few more, but these are the best looking ones of the bunch. :D

They are lovely, Inchworm.
I hope you wind up with oodles of fry, all just like dear old mum and dad.

My Limia Nigrofasciata carry their fry for upto 10 weeks :)

Here she is today. If she was impregnated right away, she is 3 weeks along and starting to fill out.

Sad to say, the female died last week. :-(

I do have a few other females to try, but they are younger and not as big or colorful. I've separated them out and will be watching them for a while before I choose one.
