ok the picture that came with the scientific name looks alot like my plant.

i thought that this plant grows fast, is this true?

it is located at the bottom of a 55 gallon tank

i am currenlty supplying it with API leaf zone

i want to add root tabs, would this help at all?

it is planted spread out with 2 large clumps and the rest have an average of 5 leaves on it

please help, i really want this to grow well

and the sword has had some strands with baby plants on them, one has roots about ----- that big, i planted it while leaving the other ones and it attached to the mother plant, is this ok? would rot tabs also help?

and i want to add a small melon sword , where should i plant it?

yes, providing it has good CO2 & nutrients.

yes, concentrate more on CO2 though, as that is what brings success with this plant.

pull the plantlets off the shoot, once the roots are about 1" in length.

i dont think i have a backround, but heres a tank pic to show you (the brazilian micro sword is no longer clumped up in the pic now)

this is to show where the plants are.

this one shows where its located, so it acts as a wall divider ands it is seen on 3 sides,

there are co2 kits were i am but they only cover for 20 gallons, would 1 be ok? im short on cash at the moment, but im getting grade $ soon and previous debts will be collected at the time as well.

In the centre will do then, as it will reach the surface, you ould create an island scape.

I wouldnt use CO2, as they arent that good unless it is a pressurized system for a tank this size. It would be a better option to use an easier plant, such as marsilea hirstuta.

any other mat plants that could fit my predicament?

i have tried these plants with no success

java moss (fish after dinner salad)
something simila to the clover thing you said, it might have been it or an actual clover plant.

and what should i do with the micro sword?

i might end up going with the chain sword, would it be ok if it grows in an unwanted area to just prune it? i want to have some sand left for the corys and to make it have a plains sort of look with the melon, amazons, and ludwigias as the tall plants.

does that sound good?

what do you mean?
split it up into a few smaller bunches then plant it.

yes, once you see some new growth coming through, prune it down to substrate level (like eleocharis) and it will start to spread quicker.
You can just treat it like grass.

the micro sword is the plant i currently have that i tried to grow but its actually going real down hill now, today its covered in algae and is yellow, even the stuff thats in the current is like this, and even if the plant makes a come back i dont want 2 different types of mat, so how should i deal with it/dispose of it?
