Also, any know know if Oscars do oh with Rams or angels? I have seen very small Angels in a Giant Oscar tanks.. jsut wondering.

Also, are they hardy? :/

lol.. interesting looking.. Some oscars will tolerate certain fish, some wont tolerate any fish. A big guy like that probably isn't too fast, so probably wouldn't be able to catch much..

but if you try a 2-4'' oscar with an angel, you'd most likely end up with dead angel.

Oscars are pretty hardy, as long as you keep the water clean (like most fish)

The index says 72 is the lowest tempature.. I suppsoe that means loweest preferable? I was sjtu wondering it it would be ok to put in a plastic tub haha. liek an 80 gallon one.. Be a nice basment buddy. Right next to the goldfish tubs haha.

I actually think the oscar is kind of ugly, sorry. The fins being so long is just so unnaturalistic, makes him look just weird. My mom always said if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say nothin at all, but dang... wouldnt catch me with one of those, mine look great just the way they are..

I don't like longfinned/mutated fish like these :( They seem to have problems dragging all that finnage around, and tend to be poorly bred and delicate.

Edit: I'm sorry, I didn't realise the fish was yours or I wouldn't have been so forward.

Oscar's really have they're own personalities, it's best to plan on them having no friends with them but leave a bit of extra room, then once you've got yours and you know if he's agressive or docile then you can think of tankmates. Some Oscar's will kill everything in sight and you'll never be able to keep a friend with them, some (like mine) don't bother anything at all. I have mine in with a firemouth and a parrot fish, and when Ian's plec grows up he'll go in there too.

You mentioned Jack Dempsey's on another thread, they're quite a likely candidate for a companion if you wanetd both :good:

Im sorry too for calling your oscar ugly, im sure you like him and it wasnt my place.

who are you guys apologising to?

whos fish is it?
I like long finns.. but not that long.. maybe long but not so long they look like a Betta.. maybe if they were wild Betta looking.. that a good comparison? :/

i've seen these before, it looks awful IMO it seems to ruin the natural look and strong look of an oscar.

:good:

i have an oscar 8-9 inches long he has these fish for company

2 angels about 5 inch long
pleco 7 inch
catfish 6 inch
tinfoil barb 9 inch

he gets along fine with all of them sometimes he will threaten the barb but thats all.
