Does anyone know what the differnces are between a T8 light and a T5??

I think I need to buy more lights but am a tad confused and would like some knowledge before I got o my lfs

T5's and T8-HO bulbs are very close in the amount of lumens per watt, but T5's are slimmer and thus prob. a bit more common since that means they take up less space in a hood.
