i'm not sure wot type of lighting to get. i've got a planted tank and i can only use one tube on it so i can get a tube for the plants or one for the fish. wot do u fink is best?

The plants need the light to survive so go for the tube with the right light spectrum for them.

BTW i just use ordinary household tubes which are about 1/4 of the price of aquarium tubes and do a perfectly good job for growing plants.

yah but i'd rather get the tubs made for tanks. the spectrum for the household tube and the other tubs are different

I use interpet triton tubes, my plants are a thriving mass
