Hey there i have a 350 litre tank and i'm wondering how many watts of lighting it requires?and how many hours should it be on for?I have it well planted and would lke my plants to take off!Currently i'm running twin 30 watt flourecent bulbs. Also any advice on fertilizers for the plants?

According to my good book 'You & Your Aquarium' by Dick Mills, you need at least 60 watts of tungsten light or 20 watts of fluorescent light for each 30cm of tank length. However, if you want lots of plants this can be increased to 60 watts of fluorescent light per 30cm of tank length. It also says that the more plants you have the better, as this uses up all the light source and starves excess algae.

I just buy a general aquarium plant fertiliser from the lfs.
