hi all im going to be setting up a 3ft 125ltr take in the upcoming weeks and its going to have 2x 30w 6500k tubes in it. would i need a c02 system with it as i think its about 2wpg

Hi. I have a 125litre tank and I find I need to add CO2 otherwise I get plant deficienes and algae that is linked to not enough CO2 (that's with only 2x18W as well).
Feel free to try without CO2, but perhaps consider blocking out some light with floating plants and dosing a liquid carbon product instead to provide the neccasary carbon to the plants. Easycarbo is a good choice.

IMO, yes you would have to add CO2. Anyway you can halve the lighting?

Really RadaR, you have to add CO2 with 2x 18W? That doesn't seem like a huge amount of light to me, but maybe your situation is different.

What kind of bulbs are yours, if you don't mind me asking?

Bizzare isn't it. I no longer have 2x18W because I'm at Uni now. The tank has 1x18W t8 which is more managable for my Dad.
When I did have 2x18W t8 though, the bulbs were one Skywhite Osram and one Osram Lumilux 840.
I'll have this tank with me next year which is an excuse to start over somewhat :)
