What do you think of item number 160295588501 on ebay.co.uk as a lighting for a 45 USG Marine tank. The tank is 48x12x18, Im wanting to keep Pulsing Xenia and Green Star, me thinks...

There will be dark patches at the corners, but otherwise the unit looks good for the tank of that size. :good: There is enough light for pulsing zenia there, but not shure about the Green Star, as I haven't come across that common name before, and struggle with latain names

With the scape, you will have to keep coral out of the last 1/2 foot of the tank realy, and put the higher-light stuff in the 2ft in the centre

All the best

Some people have an amazing amount of luck with the green star polyp; they describe it growing like a weed. I hate the stuff and it hates me which is a shame. It requires high flow and low to moderate lighting, but as I say it either likes you or hates you. That marmite situation.

Good luck

Regards

Dang I hates marmite xD. Well that isnt too bad news about keeping it in the center as I wouldnt really want to stuff my corals down the side anyway xD. Is there any other corals that would be cool under this lighting?

Bottons, mushrooms, most Zenia, Leathers. Pretty much any filter feeding softies. Green Xenia does best under halides I am told, so is best avoided under T5, but pulsing Xenia should be fine
