I would just like to ask , 
 
what is the benefit of having a white & blue light in your tank , 
 
Do you use the blue & white colours at different times of the day or is it simply to give a different look or feel to your tank.

The idea is that, with both blue and white lights on, the tank has a very bright, daylight effect (a lot of bulbs are quite yellow or pinkish) and, with just the blue lights on, you get a moonlit look.
 
Some people leave the blue ones on all the time, but that can cause a lot of algae.
