lighting question

I have incandescent lighting on my hood. I would like to add a bubbler (just in case the HOB filter isn't doing enough), but I've heard that air stones shorten the life of the lights dramatically. Has anyone else heard this?

I've never heard of that before.... I don't even know why airstones would affect the lights at all!

Can't see that being true as it makes no sense unless you've got an airstone that's causing a small tidal wave.
