I’m going to be upgrading from a 29 gallon tank to a 75 gallon tank. I have been trying to decide between using the standard light and hood combo with one bulb or using the glass cover with a twin light strip.

I get a fair amount of deposits on my current hood, so I’m worried if go with the glass cover it would need to be cleaned all the time? Also does having two bulbs as oppose to one really make a difference and is worth the extra cost? Any advice is appreciated

I like the all glass with 2 bulbs.

Sometimes it's nice to have just one side or the other on for a different effect and IMO, it's much easier to clean glass than a plastic hood.

Just my preference.

I have a single bulb on my 55 gallon. But like Gatorbait said above i'm sure it would give a nice effect of having two lights. Then you could leave one on and the other off.

It really depends on whether your tank has live plants or not. With live plants you almost have to have power compact lights to get the wattage you need. With fake plants, one strip will probably be fine but may not give enough light to see your fish well.
