Hello,
My new(ish) tank, 48"x15"x12", is running on a single 42" TRITON tube, with a reflector ... seems bright enough, but a few plants are now starting to shed leaves and brown, presumably because of lack of light ? (most plants are along the "back row" so about a week ago I moved the lamp to the rear of the tank... could they have too much light now ?
There are a few whisps of algae starting to form. (threads)

Tanks has been running a couple of months now, plants were added 3 weeks back.
Substrate is sand over "Ecocomplete" and I have added liquid fert... No fish as yet, adding a small amount of ammonia every day to drive a fishless cycle...

Most plants are producing roots down to the substrate...

So, what do you think guys ?

A pic and your tank stats would be useful and also what plant species you've got in there and which ones are dieing.

But does sound like a lack of light.

Sam

What WPG do you have?

If the tanks been set up for a few months, how come you're just starting a fishless cycle? Are you getting all the plants nice and set up before you stock?

Stop adding the ferts until you finish the fishless cycle. Ammonia is plant food and excess nutrients = algae.
