Hey everyone, i REALLY am in desperate need of help here...

So my 65 gallon came with this hood that pops open when you press the buttons and the original fluorescent double bulb fixture would fit underneath the canopy and the water...

However only one socket is running and am needing to replace the fixture all together....BUT the fixture is detachable from the hood so i need a light that can be attached to the bottom of the hood... Heres some pictures to better explain...
start at this picture and press the "older" button to get an idea of what im talking about

Really needing help, so anyone who can help, THANK YOU so much for your time!

can anyone help? I just need to find a way to mount a fixture underneath the lid and prevent moisture and condensation somehow... ANY ideas? :/

They are only 1" tall and sit o your tank rim and will easily fit under your hood, mounted or otherwise.

i hang mine an inch above my water but you can see how slim they are in this pic:

Found that fixture, seems like an awesome price for a 2 bulb t5. Would it fare well for low/medium light plants? And can anyone help me search for the dimensions of this fixture? obviously its 36" long but i cant find how tall it is...

EDIT: just noticed its 3.7" tall so it wouldnt work

Here is the link to the one I bought right out of my Amazon Orders page:

(Same as the one you linked)

And here is a picture I just took:

I think you're seeing shipping dimensions of the box.

lol i think ill go with that fixture then! kinda embarrassing reading that the wrong way...haha but oh well... Ill probably need 2 of these fixtures for the tank which is a 65 gallon (4' long,18 or 16" wide, 2'tall)? I will be growing lower light plants like some different types of hydro, java fern, Anubias, vals, crypts, and possibly a tiger lotus.

Yeah didn't know it was 2 foot tall - - - t5NO lighting may or may not be that well at growing plants there, i'm not really qualified to talk on that topic though

I use 2 over my 18" wide 40 breeder

For comparison sake... I've got 2 20w CFLs in clip on desk lamps right now (uber low budget aquarium lighting, no? LOL) that has been sufficient for low light plants in a 75 gallon tank. I've got crypts, java fern, hornwort and elodea that has grown just fine. The crypts have amazed me. I dare say these bulbs would be a big step up from my setup and should be plenty sufficient for low light plants.
