hello,

I purchased one of these lights

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Free-Angle-Aquarium-...-Light-Lamp-11W
for my 3G fry tank its 11w giving me roughly 4WPG

Not looking to grow plants in there although there is java moss for the fry to hide in

Will the wattage cause a problem for the fry?

I know it might cause a build up of algae as one Issue but will there be other problems with this.

Thanks.

No, it wont cause fry problems if you have enough moss. 4WPG on that size tank is nothing anyway, I had 36w (15WPG) on a 3g, you need more light for a tank under 10g.

It is something to do with the minimum light thresh hold., i can't remeber fully but i will try and find out, it does make sense when you read it!

Here is the link, if it doesn't work then type rex grigg in google then go to his site and it should be on the right side.
