Light Question

How long do you leave your tank lights on? I leave mine on in the am for a few hours and in the evening for another few hours while watching t.v..Is there any safe lenght of time to keep them on or off ?

mine are on about 12 hours a day then i switch to my moonlights and everyone does fine.
