Ok, so definately new at this and I think Im panicing at every little thing. Yesterday I noticed a lighter patch on my leopard pleco (new to tank four days, 2.5 inches - not sure of exact length, as he seems very healthy otherwise and bombs round the tank like lightening).
He eats constantly and poops constantly at the same time (in fact he is an eating/pooping machine - hence the family have called him "Captain Poo"). The tank appears to be sparkling as he likes to eat off the sides but I have been putting in cucumber and algae wafers too.
I did do the white spot treatment before I popped him in - but he went in with two clown loaches and I was told to half the dose as this might burn them.
Im sorry I cant take a picture of him, as every shot on three cameras I have taken so far are too blurred to show anything - the little sod doesnt half move!).
There are no spots, just a patch of very lighter skin on his left, which does not look flakey or inflamed. I swear though, its not always there, could this be a stress sign do you think? He bombs around the tank and doesnt seem to show any shyness or particular probs with other fish). pupils seem clear, still very agile.
Notes about tank (125 lt, all tests coming back fine ammonia levels, PH levels, N02 and NO3 all well within acceptance zone - test and 25% water change every week ) ten zebra danios and two clown loaches as tank mates - none above 2 inches). No nibbling of fins as far.
Look - Im a being over protective mum here - or what? Is there another test Im missing you think? If anyone has shots of their leopard pleco - be a help.
I dont want to be the auntie that killed "Captain Poo".
