Lifted Up Scale On My Platy?

this morning i woke up and looked at my fish and my platy just on one side of her head had her scales lifted up. sad1.gif she was fine lastnight. at first i thought she just had something on her but when i looked closer i noticed some scaled were lifted up. is this something to worry about? if it is what should i do?

sounds like the start of dropsy, dont feed for a couple of days and keep the water clean and fresh, you can get treatment for dropsy and it would be a good idea to do this, try to get a multi med that does a range of things as if its not dropsy then you have a good chance of getting whatever it is sorted.

your fish may be lucky, it looks like youve caught dropsy at an early stage, put in dropsy meds an give it an epsom salt bath

thanks! when i do this is she going to be ok? will the other fish in the tank get it too? and what is dropsy?
