Lfs Stocking Ammonia

Why dont fish shops stock household ammonia?

Because its main purpose is cleaning, we just use it for different reasons..

it still is annoying and would be nice if the lfs stocked it, side note is it ok to use ammonia with lemon scent or should i try and find some without any scent added to it?

I know that, but it's widely used in the aquatic hobby, and you would have thought lfs's would have tagged on to it and sold it in their shops.

You want the one that has no additives whatsoever - no perfumes and no surfactants.
Over here we can get it from eBay and Homebase. Not sure where you would get it in Canada.

I would have great respect for any LFS that stocked ammonia. As it is, they stand to make more money selling bacteria in a bottle products to newbies and potions to make things better when things inevitably go wrong.

I think its more to do with time aswell, my lfs gets very busy at weekends, cant imagine them trying to explain cycling in that busy environment
