So my blue crowntail Levi's been kinda off today... =/ He's in a 1gal, but I usually change water 70% every 3 days... Except this last week I was very very busy at other people's houses so I didn't change his water for maybe 4 or 5 days...?

D:

I think he's got Swim bladder now. I just noticed... This morning he was eating as normal... His color still looks good, and he flares at my new Betta, Simba (I'll try to get some pics in...), but I noticed he NEVER comes down from the surface anymore, even when I lure him with bloodworms from outside the tank, which almost always works to get him down. His stomach's kind of bulgy, and it looks like he's struggling to get down from the surface. He gulps air a lot from the surface now. Sometimes when he stays still for a while his body begins to tilt to the right until it's almost horizontal, and then he convulses a little and flares at nothing in particular.

Also, there's a single string of white coming from the top of his head... Not sure what to do about it. Could it be fungus? D:

Please, I want to help him before it's too late. Please and thank you in advance. =)

1 gallon. no heater or filter i presume..? Simba is in a separate *ehem* "tank" correct?

Most likely too late........

The bloating (fat belly) is usually caused by an internal bacterial infection. This is often accompanied by the fish no longer feeding and doing a stringy white or semi-transparent poo. Adding an internal anti-bacterial medication might work, but it might be too late.
Try changing all of the water each day for a week and add some medication and see how he goes. Basically change the water, add some medication. Then the next day change the water and add more medication. Do this for a week and see how things look. You should probably try changing the water asap and then go get some medication if you don’t have any.

The white stuff on his head is probably excess mucous and should clear up when the water is changed.

Fungal infections usually appear as white and fluffy.

I saw Levi poop today. It's not stringy at all, in fact it's rather thick and pink colored. =X

Yup, Simba's in another thank. Levi's doing everything like normal, eating like normal and everything. I've actually seen him swim around the tank today, doesn't look too much like swim bladder now... =X I changed the water completely yesterday and cleaned his tank and everything...

...But he's still going horizontal... Why? D:

he could be taking in air when he eats. That would cause him to have trouble swimming down and keeping level in the water column. This is common in fish that are fed lots of dry food. Adding live or frozen (but defrosted) food to the diet can sometimes make a difference.

If he is eating and doing normal poo (although pink in colour :) ) then he is not suffering from an internal bacterial infection and doesn't need medication.

Give him a couple of days and see how he goes. If he hasn't started swimming normally check his diet.

Thanks. Um. I feed him pelleted food most of the time, and a few bloodoworms, tubifex, flakes and mysis shrimp. The only frozen food I have in my house are baby brine shrimp, which Levi can't even see when they hit the water o_O

He's still going horizontal and seems he has difficulty coming down from the surface, but other than that he's absoulutely fine in every way. =X

My mom keeps saying that he was poisoned from my nail polish, although it was dry when I changed his water. Is there any truth to this claim?

not likely.

give him a boiled pea for 2 days as the only source of food. squish it before placing into the tank...... it sounds swim bladder related at this point.
