Levi Killed Morrigan!

so yesterday i let the morrigan out with levi in the spawning tank. all seemed fine she was very highly barred and he had been paying her lots of attention and had built a good bubblenest. he had been alternating between chasing and nipping at her, and leaving her alone. last night when i went to bed she was hiding up on top of some of the plants in the tank, resting on the leaves, still fully barred up. this morning i came down and her poor body was resting in a corner with a little notch taken out of her stomach

I was really paranoid about things and had thought about putting her back into her breeding net overnight, but all the signs seemed to be good, and i had read on here that as long as things seemed to be going ok and he wasn't doing too much damage and she didn't have stress stripes, they could be left together for several days to get on with it.

he really didn't seem to be doing much damage at all yesterday, why did it all change so much overnight!

sorry to hear this news ibble, its down to what will be will be im afraid, ive lost a few females and even 2 males from this happening its just part of the breeding programme and no one will ever know for sure what is going to happen.

thanks hun, Its just so upsetting for my first attempt to go so badly wrong. but at least i had read up lots beforehand and knew i was doing everything right.

Getting some antibacterial treatment in, as it looks like i have something going on in my sorority, (why does it all happen at once!) so got to get that sorted, but then will be on the scout around for some nice new girls for breeding programs (so if you get anything good in let me know )
