Letting My Fry Loose

i have about 20 fry im going to let loose in my small planted aquarium. 6 shrimp reside here and ive seen them eat the fry before. my goal isnt to keep these fry, but let them survive if they can. do i need to feed them or can they eat stuff off the bottom and off plants?? i dont have pantyhose so is there anything else to wrap around the filter intake before i release them?

convict fry, they are very small...less than 1 cm. the filter is a biowheel and cycles itself once every 2 minutes. i do heavy water changes because it is a small tank


im doing it to feed the shrimp, but would like to hopefuly have a few survive if possible.

to feed the shrimp? then it doesn't really matter when you let them out, if you don't care about their lives

these fish are far too pretty to be food..
