if you have an explanation, i would be pleased to hear it, but if not then i must say i find it disgusting when sellers use pictures and descriptions to sell fish they have already sold.
this is something that has happened to me in the past, and at the end of the day its not that difficult to take a new picture.

i'm sure this is going to cause lots of controversy, and i apologize in advance. it is not due to any personal feelings towards shaz (in fact i always quite liked her) but i do not agree with this practice.

Oh Dear !

The fish are not the same fish( i dont think, there all in the same tank) but they are the same pictures.

the reason been i had 3 of each colour that look exactly the same, my camera is broke so using the same pictures.
if that offends anyone then im sorry, i didnt even give it a second thought
i have more pics loaded on my computer i could change them but there not as clear as those.
and whos to say the fish i did post are the 2 in the picure anyway, i have 6 fish that look identical

no need to have a go at me on here, just could just of pmed me i and i would have told you or anyone else thats talking behind my back.


oh and just edited to add that i did get 29 girls from kieth so there was bound to be fish that looks the same.

well clearly i'm not having a go at you behind your back, or i wouldn't put it on here! i didn't speak to anybody about it prior to putting it on here,

and as far as pm's go, i feel that everyone (who might be potential buyers) is entitled to the information that the fish they are bidding on, may not be the fish they receive.

if you have broken your camera fair enough, but put a note on the listing saying these photos may not be the exact fish you receive due to there being several of the same colour. at least then you are being honest

also the listing states that they are 4 months old, but so did the last one a month ago so they will obviously have aged. clearly you just haven't bothered to update any of the information, but its not a big job to change a few words and put in a qualifier. surely its better to do that than risk possible negative feedback from a buyer who feels cheated, which they may do if they subsequently look through your feedback and see the previous listing.

not trying to be harsh, just honest. sq bettas has done the same thing, with using old photos of previously sold fish, and so has marlee1230 i don't agree with it from anyone, not just blasting you personally. just sort of expected better from you. sorry if that offends you, but its sort of meant as a compliment and i fully admit that i was pissed off with another ebay seller (java moss) which probably made me more annoyed than usual by the mis-information in your post

EDIT: just seen that you edited the listing and i think thats much better (and now i sound really patronizing sorry)

and noticed it wasn't as long ago as i thought, so the age thing not so much of an issue, although personally i would still be tempted to list as 4-5months, but thats just personal preference

actually i haven't tried to call you a liar and a cheat! in fact if you read my reply you will find that i said i expected better of you as i think you are a good person
i think you have not been bothered to add all the information you should have originally. but that was obviously an oversight. please don't try and turn this into a big argument as that was never my intention.

if you notice my edit (which was posted before your reply) you will notice i pointed out myself that i was wrong about the timescale

Im not arguing with you ibble just just need to get all the facts right before you point a finger, remember this is the first time im selling bettas and there is going to be mistakes on the way, were all not perfect are we.
it was never my intention to misslead anyone what so ever.
whoever buys them fish will get exactly what is listed on ebay the same shape ,colour, age all be it a few days out, but no sellers fish comes with a date of birth do they?

well the main point of my post was not regarding the age (which i have already apologized for and accepted was a mistake) but the fact that you had posted picture of 2 particular fish, and that some if not all your customer were not going to receive those 2 specific fish. it is misleading if not intentionally.

i accept that you are new to selling bettas, but hopefully due to this post your customers will now know what they are getting and not feel mislead or cheated (even if that was never your intention!)

and they may get the same colour shape and age fish, but maybe they will be slightly different looks wise. maybe its not quite so much of an issue with yours, but i have been on the receiving end of this sort of treatment and i was not happy at all with my purchase, and that seller has lost a customer for life. i was sold 2 blue marbles (who were almost completely white at that point) as blue cambodians on the basis of photos, which i later discovered had been sold a month before mine were listed. (probably where me thinking it was month previously yours had been listed, dyslexic brain mixing things up)

Don't be lazy...Always give the right info and/or photos. I know that's harsh, but seriously, when you're taking someones money.. there's no room to sugarcoat. IF Ibble had not pointed this out to you as something that's not looked upon well, you would most definitely have had a whole mess load of people in the future who looked at you as a cheat/liar even if your intention was not to mislead people (which I don't think it was fyi).

which reminds me of a funny story.
my parents have recently started going to their local on a regular basis at the weekends, my mum was wearing a fairly low cut top, and its safe to say she is quite well endowed (and looks more so as she is only 5ft2 and a size 12) she has short cut hair, and wears jeans a lot.
they are good friends with the owner and her son and daughter, and a friend of the daughter came over and was introduced to them, (he was quite drunk) and stood talking to my mum for some time, all the while eying up her chest.
he then proceeded to say "i've never seen a bloke with such great boobs before" to general amusement from everyone there.

i am not lazy in the slightest and have taken offence to been called this,
all i did was list something on ebay that look the same, it you had 2 tops for sale but one was a diffrent size would you take a pic of the 10 then take a pic of the 14 because its bigger, no you would just put the same pic on. (i know fish are diffrent to clothing before its mentioned)

my point is the fish i am selling are the same colour shape etc i have been sitting looking at them for the last 20 mins and i can hand on heart say they look no diffrent to the pictures, only the diffrence the flash makes. (i may have not posted the fish out the the buyer in the pictures).
i woulnt of had any mess in the future because i am selling diffrent colours next time, im hardly going to put that pic on if im selling red ones.

i agree you had issues with other sellers regarding this in the past but that wasnt me was it, so please dont tie me with the same brush,

this thread has blown things way out of the water , i have sold 4 bettas online and have good feeback for the 4 i have sold. the two online at the moment are swimming in my tank . IMO

if i had sold them to someone and they were not 100% happy with them because of the pictures then i would hold my hands up and take it on the chin, ,,,,but thats not happened has it.

Don't worry Shaz,

I had numerous Listings deleted by ebay, 'cause i got stuff wrong. when i started to sell stuff on there.
Now i have a template that i simply update each time i sell something.
