Leterite?

Mix the laterite with the lower third of the sand and top with remaining sand. Rinse the laterite thoroughly beforehand to prevent excess clouding.

gf225 what do you think would be better to use?
Also, what do you think of Tetra - Plant Complete Substrate? Just wondering.
P.S cant wait for your article in PFK.

ADA Aqua Soil is reported to be excellent but it can mess with your water chemistry, especially with soft water.

I've no experience or heard no feedback on the Tetra product but I expect it to be more effective than laterite.

Other popular and effective substrates are Seachem Flourite and Caribsea Ecocomplete.

Aqua Essentials has a very good range of substrates.

Umm..I think Craynerd had Tetra Complete Substrate on his Rekord 70. He said his plants loved it :D PM him just to check though.

Hi RadaR

I use a combination of Tetra comlpete substrate, sand and laterite and the plants love it!
I also use a Rena cor substrate heater to gently circulate the nutrient in the sbustrate (but this is turned off at the moment due to the hot weather).

I recommend all of the above!
