Leopard Danio Red Growth

HI, one of my leopards has been a little off for the past few days, yesterday he started breathing quite fast, today he has a red growth (like swelling) on his left side behind his gill, he also appears to have a hole/scab on his underside. he is still swimming but not with the others.
all water stats are fine.
no other fish show any symptoms.
i've just added melafix but dont think it will help much
any idea what it might be and what treatment would be correct.

too late, he had died when i got in from work, he seemed to have sores all over with his scales all messed up and redness in patches.
