Leaving In 10 Min For Betta, Need Advice

So, I'm headed off to walmart to check the Betta's. If I see any that just look absolutely pathetic I want to get one, and MAYBE mate it with Zoe wince my other male doesn't seem too willing. Any ideas on what to look for as far as a young male ready to mate? I'm leaving in less than 10 minutes
