Leaving Fish?

How long is it possible to leave fish whilst on holday?

Most fish will be ok for up to around 2 weeks.

Well as i know they can be kept for 1 month.

When you leave them for a while do you use an automatic feeder or just pop one of thos vacation blocks in?

If it's less than 2 weeks, don't feed them at all.

Over two weeks, i would get someone to come in and feed them for you.

If you get a non fishkeeper to feed your fish, make sure you measure out the feeds prior to going and give STRICT instruction on when to feed. There's nothing worse than having a friend or neighbour feed your fish and giving them too much because 'they looked so hungry'

I am just about to leave my fish for a week with no food so will let you know...although the ammonia reading is also very high so they may not make it for other reasons
