Can someone tell me why my 2 male Guppys, just won't leave my 2 Plattys alone. They seam to spend most of the time harrasing 1 male and 1 female Platty.
I have bought 2 female Guppys to try and get them to leave the plattys alone, but, they keep going after the plattys. Someone help the Plattys Please or else the Guppys are going back!

A simple solution, though it might get more complex down the road with tons of fry, would be to get female guppies for the male guppies to turn their attention to.

What size tank are they in? Are the pair of Platies and the Guppies all you have in there? Is this a recent thing, or did it just start?

Some guppies are like that, period. Mine love trying to breed with my swordtails. Some chose to chase other breeds even though there are plenty of females that are their type. (They can't create a hybrid, right?) I don't want to have crossed babies.
As far as I know, the crossing can only happen to MollyXGuppies and PlatiesXSwordtails.
I hope SwordtailsXGuppies doesn't exist!

How many gallons is the tank and its total fish stocking? Ideally in an all-male guppy group you should have at least 5males to help prevent bullying, and in a mixed gender platy group you should have 2-3females a male, but what steps you take to sort out your fish harrassment depends on how many gallons the tank is and what(if any) other fish you have in there and how many?

HI, I'm Karen, finaly managed to get on the computer!

We have a 30 litre biorb tank. We started with 2 platies (1 male, 1 female),and 2 mollies (1 male, 1 female). Couple of weeks later got the 2 male guppies and another female molly. The guppies started chasing the platies within a day or two of settling in. We have since got 2 female guppies which the males completely ignore.

If we can't stop the harrassment I think at least one of the male guppies is going back, such a shame as they are the best looking fish in the tank.

I have the same thing . Since my male guppy has got all the female guppies pregnant hes now trying it on with the female platy.
The thing is I think she likes it(the hussy) lol. Her partner isnt too pleased though he keeps chasing him away. Can he get her pregers? That would be cool.

no, I think only the following fish can cross:
MollyXGuppies and PlatiesXSwordtails

Male livebearers are horny fish, they may want to do it every half an hour or less. It is Mollies x Guppies and Swordtails x Platies.
