So recently, I discovered my 50l betta tank (I really do spoil him) was leaking. I've relocated him, and now am wondering how to repair this tank. Is there a specific type of silicon I need to use? I'm pretty sure it's not safe to use normal silicon. Thanks in advance.

You can buy silicone sealant made specifically for aquariums but they tend to be expensive. There are some general purpose silicones that would be OK but you have to read the tube carefully to see what's in them. The ones to avoid are those with anti-mould additives. Personally I'd pay more to be sure it's safe.

Don't forget that whatever you use the silicone has to cure for at least 48 hours before filling the tank again.
